Job Summary

  • The Branch Manager has the responsibility for proactively managing all the strategic initiatives of The Exchange as it applies to the branch offices in the region with regards to increasing productivity and attaining targets.
  • The incumbent will be responsible for implementing the branch strategy for the region including Quotation and Listing, Financial Literacy, Trading Floor Activity, Government liaison as well as coordinating the end-to-end processes of the region.
  • The job holder will proactively drive all the listing initiatives of The Exchange in the Abuja branch office with the goal of expanding the Nigerian capital markets. The listing drive initiatives encompass both the private and public sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintains the Branch’s Trading Engine and ensures its regular effective connectivity with the Trading Engine at the Head Office
  • Prospects for the participation of companies and Governments as part of the quotation and listing drive
  • Equity and Debt Capital Markets deal origination
  • Prospect companies with a view to bringing them to list on The Exchange’s Boards
  • Coverage and relationship management of listed companies with trusted relationships across ‘C’ level executives
  • Develop expertise in major industry sector(s) to enhance origination and coverage. Revenue generation responsibilities across products and clients within geographical area
  • Spearhead advocacy initiatives to support growth of capital market, liaise and develop relationships with capital market operators to enhance and support deal origination
  • Have an understanding of Privatisation, PPP, Concession and Commercialization of Government entities
  • Strengthen The NSE brand in the private and public sector arena within FCT and its environs – Raising awareness of product ranges offered by the Exchange
  • Continuously identify and exploit cross selling opportunities that embed the NSE and its products with prospects needs
  • Generally, act as the main point of contact for listable companies in the catchment area with The Exchange
  • Organise enlightenment and educational programmes within the catchment area as part of the Financial Literacy initiative of the Exchange
  • Research/Policy Development and Standard Operating Procedures. Develop, review and maintain the branch’s’ related policies, guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Responsible for conducting regular research and liaising with professionals, internal and external stakeholders across various industries to ensure best practices in the organization

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform other related duties as may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications And Experience

  • A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Business Admin / Finance / Accountancy / Law / Banking or other related discipline. In-depth knowledge of investment banking, market, industry sector and/or financial products
  • 8 – 12 years’ professional experience with minimum of 5 years’ cognate investment banking experience (FA/ECM/DCM) or capital markets coverage
  • Possession of MBA, professional and other post graduate qualifications will be an added advantage.

Functional Competencies:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Client Coverage, deal origination and execution experience
  • Good financial statements understanding and knowledge
  • Ability to engage effectively with top management levels.

2) Job Title: Cash Management Officer

Location: Lagos
Division: CEO
Department: Finance Group
Report to: Team Lead – Treasury
Grade: Executive Assistant – Manager

Job Summary

  • Cash Management Officer manages the Exchange’s incoming and outgoing cash effectively on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Liaise with banks and maintain security and confidentiality of financial records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintains database of operating banks, their account details and facilitate documentation requirements
  • Ensuring timely payment of payroll transactions / staff reimbursement
  • Ensuring timely payment of statutory dues of the company (VAT/WHT)
  • Processing of vendor payments to ensure accuracy and timeliness in accordance with contractual obligations and turnaround time on NSE-GAPs
  • Monitoring bank balances and performing bank fee analysis
  • Ensuring timely preparation of monthly reconciliation of all banks maintained by The Exchange and follow up of unreconciled transaction with the concerned department
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures
  • Reconciliation of various treasury related GL code with the trial balance
  • Processing of all cash and bank transactions in business system (ERP)
  • Preparation of weekly reconciliations of all bank accounts maintained by the Exchange
  • Ensure that all cheque payments are supported by authorized invoices
  • Ensure that the cash advance ledger is reconciled monthly and retirement are supported by appropriate documentation and authorized signatory
  • Make calls to the bank directly to clarify adjustments or to clarify items on the bank statements in order to reconcile activity
  • Ensure that sufficient fund are available in the bank account maintained by The Exchange to meet ongoing operational requirement
  • Provides prompt, efficient and accurate service in processing requests and transactions on NSE-GAPs electronic payment platform
  • Resolves a variety of clients, customers and staffs complaints and inquiries
  • Administration of debit MasterCard’s and opening / closing new card accounts
  • Review and reconcile transactions carried out on the Exchange’s POS Terminal
  • Take corrective action to resolve issues such as payment discrepancies
  • Maintain documentation to support requests for account adjustments
  • Effectively communicate with teammates to address issues and needs
  • Performs other duties as assigned or as the situation dictates

Key Relationships

  • Daily interaction with the Finance Team, all Business Units, Internal Audit & Risk Management Teams


  • Daily interaction with NSE Bankers especially at the operational level; external auditors, and Management

Qualifications And Experience
To successfully deliver the above goals, the right candidate must have:

  • University degree with emphasis on Economics, Finance & Accounting or any other numerate courses (sciences and Engineering)
  • At least one relevant professional qualifications e g ACCA, ACA
  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills Knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
