We are recruiting to fill the position below:

1) Job Title: Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning and Communication Officer

Ref: IITA-HR-NRS2020-016
Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Duties

  • Responsible for managing data collection, analysis and storage efforts and the BASICS 11 database;
  • Assist in the development and/or finalization of the BASICS II Work Plan and keep it updated in accordance with timeframes
  • Collect data on a regular basis to measure achievement against the performance indicators and check data quality with partners;
  • Implement and coordinate M&E activities according to M&E Plan
  • Ensure proper filing of M&E evidence and documents
  • Store survey results in an accessible and orderly method and assure safe keeping of BASICS II data in line with organizational data storage policy
  • Develop compelling stories – features, photo and video stories, and events that reinforce BASICS II work;
  • Work with relevant staff to develop communication materials including press releases, newsletters, articles, website pages, brochures, banners, posters, guidelines etc, to support partners and investors;
  • Provide technical advice and support to unit leaders and other staff in planning and developing relevant information and communications products
  • Develop and evaluate feasibility, efficiency and quality of Information Education and Communication (IEC) materials;
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Master’s in Communication, Journalism Public Relation, Agricultural Extension, or related field with five (5) years’ experience performing same role in a structured organization.

Competencies:
The ideal candidate must:

  • Have ability to deliver accurate and timely reports
  • Good Knowledge in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook applications, Cloud data storage tools like Google drive, DropBox, OneDrive etc
  • Social media knowledge and experience – adept at using major social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram

2) Job Title: Project Accountant

Duties

  • Prepare statements of expenditures (SOE) as required by the donor for justification and reporting.
  • Liaise with all project partners to obtain required information (work plans) in time, check for completeness, accuracy and allowability of the expenses before finalizing the sub agreements in close working relationship with PDAU and IITA finance team to effect payment.
  • Prepare payment, petty cash payment, journals, and other vouchers etc. and ensure that these are posted into general and other account ledgers.
  • Maintain advances and asset registers and keep store accounts books to provide control to project store.
  • Work with other team members and contributing to the preparation of funding proposals and annual financial reports for submission to the donor.
  • Monitor the processing of cash/travel advances, expense claims and reimbursements by project staff.
  • Participate in financial operations including revenue and expenditure trends analysis and financial commitments.
  • Analyse financial information with recommendations to project leader and develop efficient use of resources and procedures.
  • Create solutions to operational and financial issues/challenges, monitor funds status and the amounts transferred by donor to centre account.
  • Perform any their duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualification

  • Master’s in Accounting, Financial Management, or related field with five (5) years’ experience performing same role in a structured organization. Possession of ACA or ACCA is an added advantage.

Competencies:
The ideal candidate must:

  • Be able to demonstrate proficient level of professional skill and knowledge in accounting and use applicable information technology to meet work needs.
  • Have ability to create financial report and presentation.

Job Description

  • The Consultant will assist with the development and management of baseline, midline, and end line monitoring samples of potential ENABLE-TAAT beneficiary, prepare quarterly and annual program monitoring reports that contains summary data; reviewing overall performance against targets and making overall program recommendations including best practices identified.
  • The consultant will conduct trainee evaluation at various stages, including completion of basic training, program placement, ongoing program, program completion, and post-program as well as assist in sample selection and monitoring to test the impact of alternative interventions and track project implementation in relation to the project document.
  • Also, the consultant will work with the Business Development Officer (BDO) in providing regular and timely analysis of the start-up agribusiness enterprises and liaise with TAAT M/E officer in verifying data and information on the compact.

Requirements

  • The Consultant should possess B.Sc./ HND in Statistics, Economics, Business Administration and other social science related course with at least four (4) years of relevant job experience from International organizations/NGOs/donors preferably linked to tropical agriculture or International development.

  • The Consultant is expected to develop, implement and coordinate, a detailed communication plan/strategy for the ENABLE-TAAT compact, drive corporate strategy and message development, and other documentations; facilitate the dissemination of information on the ENABLE-TAAT compact activities through feature writing, press releases and social media and promote and publicize ENABLE-TAAT compact activities and results to various stakeholders, which will involve writing, editing, and production of articles and news stories on project related activities and findings and have these published in project newsletter or other outlets.
  • He/She will also develop and package print/web/audio-visual and multimedia materials for the ENABLE-TAAT compact upon interaction with the value chains.

  • The Consultant is expected to develop, coordinate, and implement a detailed youth training plan/strategy for the ENABLE-TAAT compact; identify, develop and promote tools and guidelines for capacity building which will help in mobilizing young people; promote agribusiness growth and help expand diversity in young people.
  • Also, he/she will carry out the related ENABLE-TAAT compact training in collaboration with identified facilitators within commodity value chains, integrate promising advanced agricultural technologies from the 9 commodity value chain compacts into curriculum, and incubation, assemble training toolkits and produce training tool per value chain and technology.
  • Others include to produce a comprehensive report at the end of training and make recommendations on ways of improving the project.

Requirements

  • The desired consultant is expected to possess a B.Sc. or HND in Agricultural Science or other related field with at least four (4) years experiences in performing similar capacity development design and development, training of trainers and participatory extension; performing similar or related roles preferably.

7) Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

Job Duties

  • Monitor progress of project activities identify successes and constraints of implementation and prepare progress reports.
  • Conduct field monitoring and validation.
  • Develop a monitoring and evaluation system operational framework/plan in consultation with the Project director and Head of M&E.
  • Update project result framework and log frame in consultation with the Project director and Head of M&E.
  • Design and manage monitoring and evaluation systems for YAW project including monitoring the plans and managing the implementation.
  • Design, develop and revise electronic data collection and monitoring and evaluation processes, tools and methods.
  • Manage databases and use SPSS / STATA for analysis of information to assess progress of the project.
  • Facilitate the planning and preparation of annual work plans with a focus on targets.
  • Facilitate the submission of updated annual and quarterly target of the projects.
  • Coordinate the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports.
  • Support the Project director and Head of M&E Unit in preparing different types of reports and documents as required.
  • Carryout out facilitating mid-term and end of term project review
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Program Evaluation, Agricultural Economics, Social Sciences, Statistics, Development Studies or related field with five (5) years’ experience or B.Sc / HND in Program Evaluation, Agricultural Economics, Social Sciences, Statistics, Development Studies, or agriculture related field performing similar role.

Competencies
The ideal candidate must:

  • Be proficient user of computer software packages related to database management and data analysis.
  • Have ability to use basic packages such as Excel, PPT and other statistical packages.
  • Have strong experience working with theory of change, logical framework design, performance indicator selection and results-based planning approaches.
  • Have strong experience developing web-based M&E systems.
  • Have experience working with scientists and conducting household surveys and impact evaluation studies

8) Job Title: Business Development Officer

Duties

  • Lead the development of training content and tools for agribusiness management and coordinate their delivery through the state coordinators and training officers in three states in Nigeria.
  • Conduct geographical agribusiness value chain analysis for the project’s target value chains and work with the state coordinators to identify business opportunities for entrepreneurial-track youth to develop business models.
  • Lead the efforts of the state coordinators in guiding entrepreneurial-track youth todevelop and implement fund-worthy business plans
  • Lead all efforts directed towards attracting funding for young agripreneurs, work with credit institutions to design youth-sensitive financing instruments for business start-up and expansion.
  • Coordinate the day to day management of pilot learning enterprises through the state coordinators in three states in Nigeria, ensuring the effectiveness of the learning experience they are to provide.
  • Coordinate the efforts of identified project partners in providing mentorship, business support and advisory service to young entrepreneurs. Ensure compliance of partners with all deliverables.
  • Assist in development of bankable business plan and recommendations for funding linkages.
  • Develop and nurture a network business partnership with private sector companies and associations that entrepreneurial-track youth can leverage on to grow and improve their businesses. Maintain an updated data base of these partners
  • Provide monitoring of the businesses established and identify challenges to be addressed / provide the required advice.
  • Provide technical support to the trainees and assist them while they are starting their business and ensure smooth business take off.

9) Job Title: STEP Training Officer

  • Develop Selection Criteria for Schools, Students and Volunteers and participate in the selection process
  • Research, develop, Update (Revise) Curriculums and other training materials for the three approaches, which includes the establishment of club, coursework and pilot enterprises
  • Plan and Organize training facilitation in collaboration with the state Administrators which includes logistics, training of trainers, school teachers, volunteers and all processes that involves smooth running of training programs
  • Monitor all training programs to ensure all training programs offer full delivery of the program’s goal and objectives. Assist the M and E officer in carrying out routine Monitoring and Evaluation procedures especially on training feedbacks

Duties

  • Plan, design and develop E-Learning platform with all functioning modules (registration, learning platform).
  • Basic IT troubleshooting, and knowledge with technical diagnoses, implements corrective action procedures within prescribed guidelines and/or escalate to other technical resources as appropriate.
  • Liaise with the assistant training coordinator and state training officers about inputs for eLearning, also train resource persons on best practices of eLearning.
  • Provide and respond to enquiries/complaint and technical support to users when and where necessary.
  • Documentation and deliver where required inductions and basic training in the use of the eLearning platform and other related services provided.
  • Information technology technical support of corporate computer-based applications, install, maintain, and complete backups of the Project data and files.
